I would like to know of dog rescue organizations in grand rapid michigan area that I can volunteer at?

At the present time I really can't do much heavy work because of a disability,but I can do paperwork,or things of such nature.

Go to petfinder.com and enter in your zip code. There should be a list of different shelters around your neighbourhood and you can call and ask if they are in need of volunteers. Good luck

The group brought in the dog duo and their handlers Karen and Scott Reynolds, who own Michigan-based from Environmental Canine Services. Trained dogs have been used to sniff out drugs, bombs and people, but now Milwaukee Riverkeeper has begun using canines to identify human excrement in the stormwater system. After a manhole cover is removed, the dogs take a whiff. German shepherd Sable and collie mix Logan spent two days last week checking out manholes in the Wauwatosa to see where fecal matter might be leaking from the sanitary sewer to the storm sewer and ultimately draining into the Menomonee River. The job is quick and the dogs don't put up a stink.

RAVENNA, Ky. -- A 7-year-old Weimaraner named Jake who was stolen from his backyard in Michigan as a puppy has shown up 350 miles away at an animal shelter in central Kentucky. "She got our number from the American Kennel Association through a microchip that was in the dog, and I just knew that was the dog that we had lost over seven years ago," Davis said.
