“We had our bikes shipped earlier from Malaysia to Turkey. Hence, we had to speed up our pace on the Turkey-German leg of the journey. IT is pouring when the first bike in the Malaysian convoy arrives. They have just ridden over 2,000 kilometres in 48 hours — from Istanbul in Turkey. Mohamed Assir Ariff gets off his bike, pulls off his helmet and marches into the hotel lobby in Penzberg, Germany. Soon, the rest of the riders arrive. “Riding in the cold was more challenging than we expected,” he adds. At 60, he is the oldest rider.
